Christmas Schedule As is the custom at Good Shepherd, all bible studies and morning prayer will be cancelled during the week of Christmas and New Year (12/22-1/4).  All studies will resume on January 5. The staff will all be off until Jan 5. The offices will still be open and happily humming along.

Take Them a Meal As many of you know, Bruce Layman recently underwent heart surgery. While he is recovering, we would like to help Bruce and Lin out by providing some meals to allow both of them to rest and recuperate. Please consider signing up to take them a meal, and please keep both Bruce and Lin in your prayers. You can sign up by visiting this link. https://takethemameal.com/DHAZ9637

Eve of Epiphany bonfire/12th Night Celebration Please join us on January 5th at 5:30pm for an evening of singing carols and eating good food as we gather to celebrate the final day of Christmas at the Groves’ home!  Good Shepherd will provide hot dogs and s’mores.  Bring a side dish or dessert to share if you’d like.

Please bring a branch of greenery from your trees or wreaths to add to the fire if you’d like.  Dress warmly and bring a camp chair to enjoy the bonfire. Contact Angel Groves with any questions.

St. Nick Recap This year’s St. Nicholas Fair was very well attended.  There were many wonderful moments of fellowship and fun.  I’m told the highlights of the day were the children’s auction, and Jim Hull’s rendition of ‘You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”.

Thanks to the hard work and generosity of Good Shepherd, we were able to send just over $5200 to CHE Nicaragua, praise God!

The 152nd Good Shepherd Annual Meeting has been scheduled for Sunday, January 25 directly after the 10:30 service.

If you are a member of Good Shepherd, please make every effort to attend.  The meeting is generally close to one hour, and a potluck lunch will be served.  Please feel free to bring a dish to pass, but stay, have lunch, and attend the meeting even if you don’t.

Choir Gathering Michael and Karen Berman would like to invite anyone who was involved in the choir and music program this year for a thank you gathering at their home the evening of January 18th at 5pm.  Choir will meet at 4pm that day to allow for the gathering.

Gluten free and dairy free options will be available.

Baby Shower There will be a baby shower honoring Addy Kennedy on January 11th from 2-4pm in the parish hall. Please let Angel Groves know by January 4th if you plan to attend. You can find their registry here. Please consider bringing a book instead of a card to help baby’s library grow!

Offering Envelopes The 2026 offering envelopes will be available next week.  If you don’t need an envelope for every week, but do need to tithe cash from time to time, there are loose leaf offering envelopes and pens at the ushers table in the foyer.

Catching Up…

Last Sunday’s Sermon Last week, Matt preached on Matthew 1:18-25. You can listen to ‘With Child From the Holy Spirit’ here.

You can catch up on older sermons here.

Adult Christian Education Last week’s Christian Education class can be listened to or viewed here.

The Cranmer Fellows Podcast (CFP) explores pastoral ministry and theology from an Anglican perspective. CFP is a project that Jon and Matt have undertaken in order to 1) encapsulate the pastoral training Matt has given men over the years into an accessible resource and 2) serve as a door to, we pray, a future program to train more people for ministry. Though geared toward the pastor, ministry leader, and pastor-in-training, what Jon and Matt talk about is applicable to all Christians.

Here is a link where you can listen to previous episodes. https://anchor.fm/thecranmerfellowspodcast.

You can subscribe to CFP on all major platforms.

Ongoing Ministries

Intercessor Ministry On Sunday at both the 8 and the 10:30, you may notice a person standing at the side altar rail as you come forward to receive Communion. That person is part of the Prayer Ministry, people trained to pray for any anxieties or troubles you may have. If you would like prayer for any reason, please feel free to stop as you pass.

Audio-Video Team Are you a technologically capable person who would like to serve the church with your gifts? Good Shepherd is adding a volunteer team to run sound and the livestream for the 10:30 Sunday service. If this is a ministry that interests you, please reach out to Micah.
