This Tuesday morning we continued our study of the minor prophets in the book of Hosea, moving from chapter 3 to chapter 4.
Hosea purchases his wife Gomer out of the enslavement into which she had reduced herself. This purchase foreshadows God’s own work of redemption in Christ through whom he purchases his people out of slavery to sin and sentence of condemnation. Chapter 4 is an indictment of Israel. In the context of his promises to save, God reveals his Bride’s sinfulness and the depth of her enslavement.
