SUMMARY:St. Nicholas Fair
DESCRIPTION:Invite your friends! Our community always has a lot of fun when we come together\, and this is a great excuse for us to celebrate the season while raising funds for an important cause. We will be having a winter marketplace full of art made by our church family and serving delicious food at our St. Nick cafe. We’ll have a specialty drink bar with *limited* St. Nicholas glass cups\, first come\, first serve! And\, there will be wonderful live music and entertainment throughout the day\, maybe even some visits from St Nicholas himself… \n\n\n\nWe’re bringing our community together to raise funds for the Mchungaji Mwema\, ‘Good Shepherd’ preschool in the Kuwinda slum outside of Nairobi\, Kenya. Come prepared to purchase some handmade artisan Christmas gifts and enjoy delicious food while supporting an important cause. \n\n\n\nThe Mchungaji Mwema preschool has a staff of five\, and none of them yet have health insurance. It’s so important for us to raise these funds because\, right now\, Church of the Good Shepherd is the only organization that supports the small school. We as a church\, along with a couple of individual donors\, are currently giving toward the school’s regular operating costs. The children are ensured two meals each day along with an education that sets them up for future success. What we’ve unfortunately been unable to provide thus far is health insurance for the five school employees. Lord willing\, we will provide these hard-working employees with the insurance they need to care for their health as they care for these children – and have fun along the way!
