Christian Education – June 26, 2022 – How to Read and Study the Bible, Part 2: Narratives & Stories

This summer Micah, Scott, Matt, and Jonathan will be teaching a new series on how to read the Bible. Now you may think to yourself, “I already know how to read the Bible, I think I’ll just skip this series.” Well, don’t think that, and don’t skip the series! Whether you’ve been reading the Bible your entire life or you just started to read it regularly, this series is for you. As Christians we want to make sure we read God’s word properly with the right tools in our belt. How do you make sense of hard passages? How do you read prophecies, and how are they different from narrative and poetry in the Bible? What is the whole Bible about? How can the Gospel be found in texts like Leviticus? Lord willing we will explore all these things and more this summer.

This Sunday Jon will be teaching on reading Biblical narrative. Do you find it interesting that almost half of the Bible is made up of stories? Why did God do that? Why did He reveal Himself primarily in this way? Would it have been better if He had just given us an outline of who He is and what we are supposed to believe and do? How do we read stories properly? How do the different biblical stories work together to form the grander story of the Bible? We will consider these questions and more during the 9:15 hour.

You can catch the class here, or in the window below.
