The Shepherd’s Bowl serves the people of Binghamton’s south-side

Good Shepherd opened the Shepherd’s Bowl in 2004, hoping to assist those of low income and to feed the homeless. Since 2004 the ministry has grown to include the distribution of free loaves of bread donated by local grocery stores, frequent clothing distributions and canned food giveaways.

Good Shepherd seeks to wed all of our social outreach ministries with the Lord’s great commission to his church; to share the good news of his salvation to all people. The Beginners Bible Study begins at 6:30pm on Thursday evenings, directly after the Shepherd’s Bowl, and all are invited to attend.

The Beginners Bible Study is attended primarily by people who dine at the Shepherd’s Bowl and some of them have subsequently committed their lives to Jesus Christ and become members of Good Shepherd.

You Can Help

There are four Shepherd’s Bowl teams, each serving once a month, made up primarily of parishioners who cook, serve, and clean up. There are presently some holes in the teams as some team members have moved away and others have been unable to continue serving on Thursdays.

If you are available, we’d really appreciate your help. The commitment would be once a month. We especially need people willing to stay and clean up afterwards. You would most likely be home a little after 7:00pm. If you are willing to help please contact us at (607) 723-8032.
